2 Days in Hong Kong

Well, after 15 plus hours in a plane, we have finally arrived in Hong Kong and hit the ground running.  The flight was bearable with exceptional service throughout....puts American carriers to shame.  After checking into our hotel we went in search of a view of the famed Hong Kong skyline...wow!

After a quick glass at this wonderful rooftop vista, we hit the hay and anticipated our first day of exploration in the bustling city.

We started our day with a quick stroll through Victoria Park which is just beside our hotel and acts as the starting point of the weekly protests.  The park was filled with people practicing various forms of Tai Chi: some with a pole, some with fans and others with swords...amazing.  Off to the overland trams and off to Hong Kong Central.

Heading into Central Hong Kong Island on the Tram (Tram must be 100 yrs. old)

We are now in the Central Wai Chai area of Hong Kong Island at the "Wet Markets" where the locals buy their fresh food everyday.  The fish, meat and vegetables are brought in fresh several times a day and you can see them killing live fish, scaling them and readying them for sale right in front of you.

Everyone has their own specialty shop along the streets if Hong Kong.  Not exactly neat and organized looking though!

Guess who?

Taking our taxi ride through SoHo at rush hour . . . Such Fun!!

The very minimalist look of James Suckling's Wine Bar in the heart of SoHo, our first stop before dinner.  Had a few great glasses of wine before dinner (they have over 500 wines that you can order by the glass!), then down the street for a great Moroccan dinner and off to bed to sleep off a little jet lag.
